Alvin and chip

Interestingly, when you look up "Alvin" in the etymology dictionary, do you have any idea what comes up?

It clearly states that Alvin is associated with "elf friend."

This immediately takes us back to the other Christmas film,  Arthur Christmas, as Arthur certainly was the elf's friend, wasn't he?

I really haven't mentioned this previously, but elves are very comparable to demons.

Notice above that it says:

Very much like a demon.

On another note, if you look up chipmunk and microchip, you will see that "chip" comes from the exact same source:

...both coming from the noun, chip:

A quick look at Alvin and the Chipmunks 3 (by request)

This may not be very thorough as I am just going by what I see off the trailers (much like I did in the Arthur Christmas film) but this message seems pretty clear to me: get chipped.

The movie is certainly intended for children and what better way to get into the minds of youngsters than with Alvin and the Chipmunks.

When I was a little boy, I had a little 45 RPM record of the Chipmunks singing a song called, "The Witch Doctor:"

It seemed innocent enough to me and my parents I suppose because I wore the record out and I remember all the words, etc. I guess what I am saying is, the Chipmunks have a lasting message with children.

The "Get Chip" (wrecked) message is all too plain. And believe it or not, it seems to tie in with the film, Arthur Christmas. Prince William and Charles (it is stated but unsubstantiated at this point) were the first two people in the world to get micro-chipped.

Yes, his name is "Alvin" and not Arthur but he's "the King of the World", "chipped" and wears a red shirt with a giant "A" on the front of it.

"I'm the King of the World"

The future "King of the World?"

This Christmas - the children are already familiar with the Arthur Christmas film, most probably.   So "Arthur" is already a part of this year's movie Christmas theme.

Get chipped?
